Group Montoni has grown from its start in 1995 from a commercial building construction company with a customer-focused vision to becoming one of the largest real estate developers in Quebec with more than 700 projects representing over 30 million square feet of industrial, commercial, institutional and residential projects completed. Montoni holds the title of one of Canada’s Best-Managed Companies for nearly 25 years and it has completed more than 5.2 million square feet of LEED-certified buildings. Following these great achievements, Montoni has also focused its ambitions on using state-of-the-art technology integrated within their design, development, and marketing process.
Infrastructure, Visualization
Montoni Groupe had the vision for a technology that could support immersive visualization without the use of VR goggles with embedded software tools that would enhance their design process. The key to realizing this vision was to not only provide a unique visualization capability but to also build a custom data ingestion pipeline to transform the Montoni Groupe’s architectural design team’s CAD outputs to an interactive 3D immersive scene rendered directly within the intended visualization environment. Imagine being able to visualize, review and collaborate on the design of a large-scale real estate project with your team within one immersive environment before any physical part is ever built… this is at the core of digital innovation made possible with the integrated Digital Twin Framework and Station IX®."
The Station IX®—featuring curved mirror technology—proved to be the ideal collaborative visualization environment for Montoni’s projects across the Greater Montreal area. It enabled stakeholders to virtually “teleport” into existing or future developments, allowing for immersive, group-based project reviews.
To support this, Imagine 4D used its Digital Twin Framework’s Flow Editor to build a custom data ingestion pipeline for Montoni’s architectural CAD files. This pipeline enables seamless transformation and rendering of project data directly within the Station IX® environment. As a result, Montoni’s design team can now update and visualize building models more frequently, improving workflows and collaboration.
By enabling walk-throughs of buildings still in the design phase, Station IX® is transforming the way teams engage in design reviews—bringing everyone into the same immersive space like never before.
